Walker Canyon, Lake Elsinore Super Bloom

Every few "winters" here in southern California, we get above average rainfall...sometimes WAY above average, as we did 2018-19...The hillsides we are used to seeing as "brownish green" suddenly come to life...The distant mountains beam with snowcaps, showing more than normal...and the fields and hillsides we are not used to seeing bright green and flowers in...are EXPLODING!

I do wish southern California could stay this way year 'round, but some area may not experience rain from April thru November...So, here are some of my pics during this beautiful time of year, with these beautiful results of our winter rains...

I had to start with the freeway drives on my 2 visits to Lake Elsinore...just the "windshield shots" alone excited me as I headed to the Super Bloom...Included, just before the actual pics of the Super Bloom are pictures I took after the second trip from a Vista Point above Lake Elsinore...you can see the Poppy fields, the Super Bloom, in the distant fields, right on the "edge of town." Enjoy...and as always, thanks for visiting!
