                                                          Vicksburg National Military Park
Vicksburg (Mississippi) National Military Park preserves the site of the American Civil War Battle of Vicksburg, waged from March 29 to July 4, 1863.

Vicksburg National Cemetery is second in size only to Arlington National Cemetery and has a larger concentration of Civil War burials than any other cemetery in the country.

My first visit to this park was in 1974, as a 6th grader...my 2nd visit was March, 2018...there is so much more to this park...these pics are from a very relaxed 3-hours in the park with cousin, Mary Balzora.

Also included: Vicksburg Riverfront Murals...
The Vicksburg Riverfront Murals project is a series of murals painted on Mississippi River flood walls. The murals are intended to depict the city's historical significance, as well as its envisioned future role in the region's commerce and culture.
